Response to Course Material

So we started off this month with three extra snow days! This was very exciting but getting back in the groove was more difficult than it should have been. Thursday and Friday of the first week involved discussing Shakespeare's Hamlet. We got down to the details and thought about the "stickiness" of the plot that brought the story together. Sadly I missed Monday and Tuesday of this week and missed the final Hamlet discussions. Although skipping school may seem nice it was hard to catch up, and now I feel like I do not fully understand Hamlet.
Once I finally came back to school (Wednesday) we started right in on the review "sheets". I put sheets in quotes because it was more than 45 pages which is almost like a short book. Although it is helpful going through the pages it is tiring and stressful because there are so many pages. Its like reviewing the history of the World in a day!

  1. Dear Anaeth,

Oh, INDEED, was that review LONG. It twas. I felt the eyes of the librarian grilling me like a patty to the grill behind my back as I printed out FORTAY-SEVEN PAGES. Did it help though?? I made the mistake of not studying some of the grammatical terms and it bit me on the cheeks.

So just know, I feel for ya. & the snowdays reeeeally did make a difference. Buttt, on the bright side, at least we will be able to tell our grandkids (or future cats, in my case) all about the year that we looked into the eyes of the POLAR VORTEX!!

  2. Ana, I also had trouble getting back into the swing of things; snow days are wonderful gifts from Jack Frost but they also super throw me off. It stinks that you missed some days, but I'm sure you'll catch up! :) I thought the review sheet was super long too, but it did help me out. I made the mistake like Lexi of not going over all of the terms ("I'll be fine!" I said incorrectly) and really regretted it, but now I know them, so I guess it all worked out! I wish you good luck on understanding Hamlet, and I'm sure you'll succeed! Also, a little cheer for all of us for being done with first semester exams! Now all that's left is the AP exam. Oh no.

  3. Yeah, it felt like we hardly had any school in January, with our snow days and half-days for exams, and, like you, I missed a couple extra days in January, but it was because I was sick :/ Overall though, I though the collaborative review for the final was pretty helpful. It was a bit of a pain to actually sit in the lab and make it, and a bit of a bigger pain to go through and read, but it had almost everything we needed to know in just one document, so I thought that was nice. What I ended up doing though is just reading the sections that I knew were more difficult for me, like the vocab and stuff about existentialism, etc.
